Brown Butler surpasses 100 employee milestone as it continues to invest in top talent

Leading Leeds-based accountancy firm Brown Butler has reached an exciting new milestone, surpassing a headcount of 100 employees.

This achievement reflects the firm’s ongoing commitment to recruiting, retaining, and developing the region’s best talent, ensuring clients receive expert advice from a team that truly understands their needs.

Brown Butler’s success is underpinned by a culture of internal growth and development, with many team members having started their careers at the firm.

Today, 16 directors lead the practice, with several having risen through the ranks thanks to the firm’s focus on training and career progression.

The firm currently has almost 20 trainees working across various departments, all of whom are supported in gaining professional qualifications by the wider team.

These trainees not only receive top-tier training but also benefit from opportunities to thrive within the accountancy sector, with many staying on to build long-term careers at Brown Butler.

Brown Butler prides itself on delivering a highly tailored service to clients built on years of getting to know and understand each client’s unique needs.

This personalised approach is bolstered by the team’s exceptional experience, with many employees having 10, 20, or many more years of service.

The firm’s longest-serving colleague, for example, joined in 1975 – demonstrating its ability to cultivate loyalty and dedication.

Brown Butler is also proud to champion equality and inclusivity, achieving a 50:50 gender balance throughout the firm.

This diversity strengthens the practice, fostering a wide range of perspectives that benefit both the team and their clients.

James White, a Director of Brown Butler, said: “Surpassing 100 employees is an exciting moment for our firm and a testament to the dedication of our team.

“By investing in training, fostering career development, and creating a supportive environment, we’ve built a practice that thrives on expertise and collaboration.

“We’re especially proud of our ability to retain long-serving colleagues, which enhances the quality and consistency of service we offer to our clients.”

Brown Butler’s focus on talent ensures it remains at the forefront of accountancy services in Leeds and beyond, combining a legacy of excellence with a commitment to future growth.
