A team of 16 from Brown Butler, a leading accounting firm in Leeds, took up the challenge of walking the Edale Skyline on Friday 4 September.
The team of brave hikers tackled the route to support CATCH Leeds, Brown Butler’s charity of the year.
A real team effort, it was inspirational to witness the group rise to the occasion, even if the route did not go as planned.
Conditions were a challenge, especially on Mam Tor, where the trig point was welcome relief to hold on to when it was reachable.
The firm demonstrated the commitment required to brave the intense 20-mile circular route with 3,800 feet of elevation gain through the heart of the Peak District by documenting the training on social media and driving up engagement.
This enabled them to surpass the donation target of £1,000 and raise more than £1,400 for CATCH Leeds.
So often overlooked, the children supported by CATCH are given positive mentorship so that they can achieve their full potential.
Over 1,000 children benefit from the daily activities that CATCH provide in the community space it runs and countless more benefit from opportunities, tools and resources they may otherwise miss out on.
This is why the British weather could not dampen the spirits as the team got to appreciate some of the incredible views that the route boasts while knowing that their efforts were going towards a good cause and had the support of their colleagues and clients.
It may have taken nine hours to complete the route, but the team knew their time was well spent and they look forward to seeing the incredible work that CATCH continues to do.
