The Government is hosting free webinars for businesses interested in or challenged by international trade this May, it has been announced.
According to the Department for International Trade (DIT), the sessions will be led by International Trade Advisers and guest speakers from major organisations, such as the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB) and the Freight Transport Association (FTA).
Each webinar will focus on a specialist or pertinent issue facing small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) when trading overseas. Starting this May, the sessions kick off with guidance on “managing overseas agents and distributions during COVID-19” on Tuesday 12th, followed by “routes to market” on Thursday 14th, and “Logistics and movement of goods during COVID-19” on Wednesday 20th. Commenting on the classes, Secretary of State for International Trade Liz Truss said the webinars will offer “practice advice to SMEs” on key issues from distribution and supply chains to risk and disruption.
“In these uncertain times, SMEs doing business internationally need as much information as possible on how to adapt and continue to carry out their day-to-day business,” she said.
“These sessions provide an essential service to help address the concerns we have heard from businesses across the country over the last few weeks.”
