It is a fact of life that enquiries by H M Revenue & Customs are on the increase. Most solicitors only have an occasional involvement with Revenue enquiries, but when involved the enquiries usually concern either Inheritance Tax or Capital Gains Tax and can involve significant amounts of tax.

Newly introduced rules impose harsher penalties should adjustments to the tax payable be conceded and the new Tribunal system means that there are significant extra costs should a practitioner wish to challenge a Revenue decision formally.

Brown Butler has for a number of years successfully offered cost effective enquiry support to solicitors.

Our services include support on full and aspect enquiries, employer compliance reviews and status reviews. We participate in all areas where ‘negotiations’ with H M Revenue & Customs are required.
